Continuing education should be a critical priority for pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine students, leading experts, and everyone in between. While nearly everyone is eager to learn about the latest developments in research and clinical practice, finding the time to do so among one’s many professional and personal obligations can make prioritizing extracurricular education feel daunting and exhausting.

The way many people learn has also evolved. When a clinical or research question arises, the overwhelming majority of professionals utilize a digital platform to search for the answer rather than traditional sources like books or printed journals. Short-form learning is also often preferred over hours-long deep dives into a given subject.
To adapt to today’s learning landscape, the ATS will introduce ATS Now in May of this year. The new on-demand learning platform brings tailored educational content, using International Conference highlights and other ATS educational resources, to learners anytime, anywhere. All registrants for the ATS 2026 International Conference will receive complimentary access to ATS Now through Dec. 31. ATS members who are unable to attend this year’s International Conference in Orlando can pay a one-time $50 fee for access to ATS Now through the end of the year.
The platform will feature recorded ATS 2025 sessions, key presentations from the 2026 conference, and additional ATS learning content after the International Conference in Orlando ends. New content will be posted to ATS Now monthly, enabling the platform to provide updates on the latest developments in pulmonary, critical care, sleep medicine, pediatrics, and more. In addition, the ATS Now team is currently reviewing more than 20,000 webinars, podcasts, and other multimedia content already produced by the ATS for scientific validity, the majority of which will be conveniently accessible when the platform launches.
On-demand content will be limited to “bite-sized” 20- to 30-minute recordings, allowing professionals to take advantage of brief open windows throughout their day, whether in the office or on the go, with practical continuing education opportunities. The platform will integrate a personalized algorithm to identify each individual’s areas of interest and suggest peer-reviewed content that they are likely to find useful.
“ATS Now is like Netflix for pulmonologists [and other specialists],” said ATS President Raed Dweik, MD, MBA, ATSF.
Users will be able to utilize ATS Now via web browsers (desktop and mobile) or by downloading the mobile app when the platform launches.
At the beginning of 2027, all ATS members will receive free access to ATS Now.
