Fortney, PhD; Jennifer Burgher Seaman, PhD, RN, CHPN; Jill Lynn Guttormson, MS, PhD, RN; and Natalie Susan McAndrew, PhD, RN, ACNS-BC, CCRN, discussed the most up-to-date science related to palliative care, including consideration of needs across illness trajectory for patients of all ages, as well as for caregivers.
The second of four Clinical Year in Review sessions featured impactful papers in COPD, asthma, health disparities, and sleep medicine. Panelist Isaretta L. Riley, MD, MPH, reviewed recent literature looking at the impact of health disparities, including a study examining structural racism as a root cause of asthma and atopic disease disparities.
The next generation of respiratory clinicians and researchers had the opportunity to jump start their ATS 2022 experience with a variety of programming tailored for early-career professionals. The Fellows Track Symposium, Resident Boot Camp, Student Scholars Program, and New Faculty Boot Camp welcomed close to 400 combined participants.
