Each year, the ATS leaves a lasting positive impact on its International Conference host city through community partnerships and service-oriented initiatives that seek to enrich the lives and overall health of its residents. In Orlando, attendees of the ATS 2026 International Conference will have multiple opportunities to pay back the community’s kindness in full.

The ATS is collaborating on several events with the Boys & Girls Club of Central Florida. On Thursday, May 14, the ATS Executive Committee, along with selected industry partners, will host a community outreach session for youth members interested in a health care career, outlining keys to success, as well as common challenges and how they can be overcome. This event will also feature a Q&A period for youth participants to expand their knowledge in areas that matter most to them. Then, a meet-and-greet opportunity will be held for attendees to enhance their networking skills and build relationships.
“This event is a great opportunity for our members to help the next generation,” said Jamil Paden, ATS director of Diversity, Equity, and Community Outreach. “Our goal is to assist these young people by making them comfortable and confident after talking with our ATS members.”
On Friday, May 15, the Boys & Girls Club of Central Florida will host its annual Celebrate the Children Gala at the Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel. To further support the Boys & Girls Club, ATS members are encouraged to enroll as volunteers for this event when sign-up begins. This event will provide another opportunity to meet with chapter members, staff, and donors to discuss community lung health and identify strategies the Society can implement to support them beyond the week of the International Conference.
ATS members and International Conference attendees can also give back by supporting The LGBT+ Center Orlando’s Pride Pantry. The Pride Pantry was established with the mission to feed vulnerable people during the COVID-19 pandemic. Today, the pantry serves over 300 people each month.
The organization relies on donations to keep the Pride Pantry stocked for families and individuals in need. ATS members can support the organization and community members through monetary donations or the following items:
- Packaged food (pasta, salt, cereal, etc.)
- Non-perishable canned goods (fruit, vegetables, tuna, chicken, peanut butter, pasta sauce, etc.)
- Personal hygiene items (toothpaste, toothbrushes, socks, soap, body wash, etc.)
- Cleaning supplies (toothpaste, toothbrushes, socks, soap, body wash, etc.)
- Pet food and treats
- Office and school supplies
“Nutrition is objectively vital to a person’s overall health,” said Mr. Paden. “Even a small donation could make a big difference for someone in need of support.”
