The small airways are often referred to as the “silent zone” due to the paucity of early symptoms and the inability of routine conventional lung function testing to detect. Growing evidence suggests that small airway disease (SAD) contributes to the burden of asthma patients, across all severities, and is associated with increased exacerbation risk and poorer clinical outcomes.
On May 18th at 1:00 p.m., our expert panel, including Dr. Omar Usmani, Dr. Nicola Hanania, and Dr. Wanda Phipatanakul, will unravel SAD detection and management in the everyday clinic for patients with asthma, and explore its prevalence, assessment, clinical significance, and treatment considerations.
