Program Description

Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency (AATD), characterized by insucient protective levels of the AAT protein in the lung, can contribute to progressive, irreversible lung damage—particularly when combined with environmental exposures. This session reviews the clinical risks associated with low AAT levels and their potential impact on long-term pulmonary outcomes, as well as the importance of earlier screening and diagnosis eorts.
